A Little Slice of Heaven
in Hayesville!

In addition to our Miami location, the Foundation has a 35 acre Homestead and Camp in the Shooting Creek Community of Hayesville, North Carolina. Our scenic location boarders the Nantahala National Forest in the Southern Smoky Mountains within a few hours drive from Asheville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta!

We are very close to the Appalachian Trail,
Cherokee Indian Reservation, Smokey Mountain National Park and outdoor recreational activities!

The homestead property is complete in summer with an old style family garden for the kids to try out their green thumb and grow some yummy healthy tomatoes and vegetables!

To make Mountain Country life complete, ya gotta have a few "country" style pets, and if you don't have 'em the neighbors do! So, in addition to the dogs and cats we have a few ducks, chickens, rabbits and wild turkeys and a few horses grazing in an adjoining pasture! We have recently
added an Alpaca to the brood! All of this makes for a fun, exciting experience mix for our children and adults!

The kids love helping in the garden, and share the various chores that come with rural life, as well as helping to care for and train our dogs.

Our residents from Miami love traveling to North Carolina for camp sessions and visits, as it makes for an interesting learning experience and fun-filled vacation!

Camille and Dr. Mike share the vision and hope
that eventually the Homestead will evolve into
village style living for the residents, allowing them a place to live their lives in a manner that is fulfilling and productive to society. This is a Dream we certainly do hope becomes Possible!
